LEAD like a Girl Scout.
At Girl Scouts, we provide a safe space for girls to take risks, make choices and solve problems. It’s important to show girls how to reach for what they want, encouraging confidence but also kindness, intelligence, and leadership.
As girls progress in Girl Scouting they create solutions to community and world problems, and in so doing earn Girl Scout high awards.
In 2018, 2,289 Girl Scouts Juniors, working with their troops, planned and executed projects to improve their communities, earning the Bronze Award.
As girls progress to the Girl Scout Cadette level, last year 944 Girl Scout Cadettes earned the Silver Award. They demonstrated that they are leaders, organized, determined, and dedicated to improving their community.
This sets Girl Scouts on a path to earning the most prestigious award in the world for girls, the Gold Award. Last year, 188 Girl Scouts earned the Gold Award. Each Girl Scout identified a community problem, envisioned a solution, developed a plan and executed a sustainable project.
