Letter from the President & CEO

Dear Girl Scout Family,

We believe in the power of every G.I.R.L. (go-getter, innovator, risk-taker and leader)™ to change the world. Before women had the right to vote, Girl Scouts encouraged and taught girls how to lead, take action and make their world a better place. Over a century later, we continue to be the best leadership experience created for girls, by girls, and we are excited by all the ways our program has evolved to meet the needs of today’s girls.

The truth is Girl Scouts are groundbreakers. They’re programming robots, advocating for social justice, caring for our environment and taking action in their communities. They are mastering skills as they earn badges, learning financial literacy and gaining the confidence to be successful in life. They are G.I.R.L.s, and yes, they still sell the best cookies, running the largest girl-led business in the world. Girl Scouts at each age and level are learning to overcome obstacles, problem solve, face their fears and inspire others.

Our annual report demonstrates the impact of Girl Scouting. As you turn each page, you will travel to different neighborhoods and see Girl Scouts from throughout our area. We believe in the power of every G.I.R.L., and we know you do too. It’s the reason why with 87,312 members, we remain the largest Girl Scout council in the nation. Our dedicated volunteers, families, supporters and staff believe in our mission, and it’s because of you that more girls have the opportunity to lead like a Girl Scout.
